GEORGE HENRY ( )
c1820-30 Believed born UK (London?) son of unknown
Apparently came to Australia attracted by the Gold Rush in Victoria - but as Jessie says, many thousands from many countries came, lived, died, and records were not kept.
Jessie has many documents about descendants, but cannot identify his origins. He was married to an Emma (Bean?) but his sons second marriage certificate says her maiden name was Cole

** There are no documents that support parentage of GH (7558) - therefore removing him as an offspring.**

George Henry (7559)
1913 Jun 26 married to Theresa Mary McGregor Port Melbourne.
1924 divorced
In the supreme court of Victoria 1923 No. DIVORCE AND MARTRIMONIAL CAUSES JURISDICTION between Teresa Mary Cunnington Petitioner and George Henry Cunningotn Respondent
I, Teresa Mary Cunnington of No59 Bridge Street Port Melbourne married woman make oath and say:
1. That I am the Petitioner in the above cause.
2. I was born at Eurambeen in Victoria near Beaufort on the twelfth day of October One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety Two.
3. I am and have always been domiciled in Victoria and the Respondent was domiciled in Victoria before our marriage and until the Thirteenth day of June One thousand nine hundred and seventeen when he left me and to the best of my knowledge and belief went straight to Sydney, since when I have never heard from him and only ascertained recently that he is living there.
4. I was at the time of my marriage a domestic servant. My husband was at the time of our marriage a milk carter for a Mr. Woodruff who owned a dairy at 21 Derham Street Port Melbourne,
5. The Respondent and I were married on the Twenty Sixth day of June One Thousand and Nine Hundred and Thirteen at the Methodist Parsonage, Port Melbourne. The following are the children of the marriage both being born at Melbourne in the said state :
1. Kathleen Alice, now aged nine years, female.
2. Alexia Frances, now aged seven years, female.

6. After our marriage my husband and I lived together at 113 Albert Street Port Melbourne until about June One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fourteen. We then moved to 138 Albert Street Port Melbourne where we lived for about ten months and then we moved to 179 Nicholson Stree Abbotsford where we lived for about three months but after that we went to 59 Evans street Port Melbourne.
7. On the Thirtieth day of June One thousand nine hundred and seventeen my husband did not return home on that evening and I have never seen or heard from him since. Before my husband left me he had been drinking very heavily for about six months and during this time on more that one occasion he arrived home late during the evening completely intoxicated. He was very seldom at home and only returned to sleep there and on numerous occasions in fact did not return at all during the night and on these occasions he did not inform me where he was and of the fact that he was staying away.
8. My husband also told me on many occastions that he did not wish to have me for a wife any longer and we had not lived together as man and wife from the Easter before he left me.
9. On or about July of the year one thousand nine hundred and seventeen the Court of Petty Session Port Melbourne made a maintenance order against the Respondent and directed that he should pay One pound ten shillings a week from the First day of August One thousand nine hundred and seventeen. No money has in fact been paid to me under this order and although I issued a warrant against the Respondent for desertion the police were unable to find him and although I have repeatedly applied to the police for information I have not been able to obtain any definite answer as to what became of the warrant.
10. I would have instituted proceedings sooner had I know that I could have obtained a divorce without money and when I found this out I saw my solicitors who then agreed to prepare my case themselves without applying for an order to issue in forma pauperis.
11. I unequivocably deny all collusions and connivances past or present direct or indirect with the Respondent or any person liable to be made Respondent.
Sworn at Melbourne in the State of Victoria this 13th day of July One thousand nine hundred and twenty-three.

George was served papers on the 17th August 1923 at Care of the Fresh Food Supply & Ice Cream Company Castlereagh Sydney for a dissolution of marriage for case of desertion.
It seems George didn't attend court and on Friday ninth day of November one thousand and nine hundred and twenty-three before his Honor Mr Justice Macfarlan.
This Cause coming on to be heard this day before this Court in the presence of Counsel learned for the Petitioner no one appearing for the Respondent UPON HEARING the Petition here and what was alleged by Mr Jones of Counsel for the Petitioner. This court doth order that the Petitioner be at liberty to discontinue the aforesaid Petition. Teresa was granted a decree nisi in absence.
