John (836) & William (837)
1797 Nov 17 baptised Titchmarsh, Huntingdon UK and his brother William (see FAM NA4) sailed to USA on the brig Commerce arriving in Philadelphia 1819, and walked/canoed to Peel, County Ontario (just west of Toronto).
Williams' obituary states He started from Toronto with his belongings on an ox cart, and reached his farm after eight days travel through almost unbroken forest. Although there were settlers before him, it was two weeks before he met a living soul, he did hear voices. Apparently the voices were that of the Caesar family.

The farm he settled at was granted to John, Location Ticket March 1821 Mar 9, and John received a Patent on 1829 Jul 3.
William bought the farm from John in 1832. John bought the farm across the road in 1823.

JOHN married (1) to Martha Ewing in January 1829. She died 01.05.1852 aged 52.

John married (2) to Agnes eight weeks after Martha died. Agnes was

30, he 53 years old. In 1853 John sold his original farm to Alexander.

In 1856 he sold his other farm to Joseph, and he and Agnes moved to

Walpole Township, Norfolk County, near Lake Erie, buying a farm there

in 1857.

John died February 1871 in Woodhouse Township, Norfolk County aged 74.

Ontario CENSUS 1871 has Agness age 48, b Ireland, Farmer,

Charlotteville, Norfolk Sth (011) Microfilm reel C-9908

An Agnes Cunnington nee Cassels was married in 1874 to a William Hall

...she aged 41 (??) and he 48

In March 1871 Johns heirs Alex, Sarah, and her husband John Dean sold

the farm in Norfolk County.

Ontario Census 1871 Reel c9958 for Peel has Alex, Farmer, age 39 b

Chingacousy. He was married to Mary Ann McKenna 09.02.1852 .

He died 1904 and is buried in Providence Cemetery.

The write-up of his 50th Anniversary says James (7013) attended.

James,his cousin, was groomsman at his marriage to Mary Ann McKenna.
